Garren, William Riley  (2nd Sgt. of Co. G "2nd Organization" 6th Calvary Regiment of North Carolina. It appears that William Riley Garren originally enlisted in Company F., then consolidated with elements of Co. G, 1st Organization to form Co. G, 2nd Organization.

Company F primarily raised (recruited) in Clay County, N.C., and Company G (2nd) recruited from Macon County, N.C. This reinforces the belief that William served with his peers prior and after the consolidation.
